Tea Ceremony

At Terakoya NINJA’s tea ceremony experience, you can receive instructions on traditional tea ceremony. The tea ceremony has a history of hundreds of years, originating from samurai culture and was once considered the ultimate form of entertainment. Our experienced host will explain and guide you through the special tools and movements used in the tea ceremony while giving you a hands-on experience.
This popular tea ceremony experience features a kimono-clad host making tea, matcha tea, and Japanese sweets.

Flower Arrangement

At Terakoya NINJA’s flower arranging experience, you can receive an introduction to traditional ikebana. Flower arrangement, which has a history of hundreds of years, began with flower offerings in front of Buddha statues and flourished with the samurai culture. Ikebana decorations in the alcove were once considered the best form of hospitality. Experienced flower arrangers will give you a hands-on experience of ikebana while explaining the basics of how to handle flowers, from how to use flower scissors and kenzan to cutting water.
This popular flower arrangement experience features a kimono-clad flower arrangement artist.

Making Nerikiri(Wagashi)

Learn how to make nerikiri, the main sweet of traditional tea ceremonies, at Terakoya NINJA’s Japanese sweets making experience. Enjoy the main sweets and matcha green tea served by the kimono-clad host in a 24-tatami-mat authentic tatami room. The tea ceremony has a history of hundreds of years, originating from samurai culture and was once considered the ultimate form of entertainment. Your experienced host will explain and guide you about the special Japanese sweets used in tea ceremonies while you sample matcha tea. Making hand-rolled sushi & Onigiri

Make two types of rice balls and one type of hand-rolled sushi. In Terakoya NINJA's hand-rolled sushi and rice ball making experience, you can easily create delicious sushi and rice balls using ingredients that are popular overseas. The experience takes place in an authentic 24-tatami mat Japanese-style room and lasts approximately 60 minutes. Enjoy making Japanese cuisine with guidance from an experienced instructor.
